Directing is one of the biggest pieces of the puzzle when it comes to creating a series. Without a director, there’s no direction and it can cause things to easily fall apart during and after production. Ultimately, the director is the glue that holds everything together. So you can only imagine how excited I was to get to speak with the director of “A World Beneath,” Kevin Steele.

Meet Kevin Steele!

To begin, I asked Kevin where he was from and how he really got into the world of directing. His response might just surprise you more than it surprised me. From being born in the Middle East, to living in Europe, Central and North America, Kevin has quite literally been all over the place. As an avid travel enthusiast, hearing about the vast number of areas he’s lived in was something amazing. With a background in astronomy, physics, and photography, it’s clear that he’s extremely well-rounded in the arts and the sciences. From decades of directing commercials and documentaries, to winning countless awards in photography, this is certainly a director who knows exactly how to get things done effectively and efficiently.

I was curious as to why Mr. Steele wanted to direct “A World Beneath” and what his goals were for it. On top of the travel aspect of the series, Kevin told me that he fell in love with the concept. He explained that it was his goal to create a beautiful cinematic piece that could tell an emotional and powerful story through archaeology. Present cultures still maintain influences from the past. “So what is that thread to connect the two?” Kevin went on to ask. I, for one, am excited to explore the answer and see just how Mr. Steele plans on visualizing it.

Stay tuned for more cast and crew updates!
